It never feels the right time to plan or talk to loved ones about how you would like to be remembered. Perhaps you feel that it will no longer be your concern and they should do what they feel is best. But, have you talked to them and told them that?
I meet with many families who are confused and upset because they feel they don’t know what their loved one would have wanted. Often people overcompensate as they don’t want to seem that they are not respecting their loved one if say they choose the cheaper coffin! So please have that conversation with your loved ones.
You may even want to take it further and relieve them of the responsibility of choosing the send off and plan your own in advance. You can even pay in advance if you choose, which can save your loved ones the worry and the financial responsibility and then they will be in no doubt that they are honouring your wishes.
